Why Costco Blows Away Wal-Mart

Why Costco Blows Away Wal-Mart: "Why Costco Blows Away Wal-Mart Although you've often read my thoughts about Costco on my Web site, it's been hard for me to find a good piece that sums up why I like their stores so much worth posting here. That is, until I discovered ABC News' revealing story about Costco (free text link below). Much of the story focuses on Costco CEO Jim Sinegal, treated like a celebrity among his admirers (me included) and, not surprisingly, his employees. In fact, Sinegal insists his company's identity hinges on creating and maintaining a 'first-name-basis' environment with everyone. Even down to the 'Jim' nametag he wears when visiting Costco stores. If you haven't been Costco, one of the unusual things -- besides great prices and selection -- you'll see there: Friendly people enjoying their work. What's more, Costco's turnover rate is five times lower than that of Wal-Mart and employees make as much 40 percent more an hour than at Sam's Club, Wal-Mart's warehouse counterpart. Talking about Wal-Mart, I finally had a chance to view the documentary Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price. There is NO question in my mind that this company has many evil behaviors. I stopped shopping at Wal-Mart many years ago but one of my friends, Paul Pilzer, is a big proponent of them as the late Sam Walton was the person who helped propel him to fame as a national economist."

The Bible and Pi

From drdino.com in an article written by Dr. Kent Hovind:

Does the Bible contain a mathematical error?

I Kings 7:23–26 and II Chronicles 4:2–5 describe a huge brass bowl built by King Solomon. If the diameter of this bowl was 10 cubits, then the circumference should have been 31.415926...cubits, not just 30 cubits! Any math student will tell you that the circumference of a circle is found by taking the diameter times Pi (3..141592653589793...). This apparent mathematical error caused me, as a new Christian, to doubt the accuracy of the Bible.

The answer is so simple! The diameter of 10 cubits is from outer rim to outer rim, the way anyone would measure a circular object. The circumference of 30 cubits, however, was of the inner circle, after subtracting the thickness of the brass (two handbreadths—one for each side) from which the bowl was made. This would be the number needed to calculate the volume of water.

Harvard linguist, translator, and Divinity School graduate believes KJV to be pure Bible in English

Harvard graduate, Dr. John Hinton Ph.D., believes the King James Version of the Bible to be the pure Word of God. He believes modern versions to be created mainly by people that do not have a relationship with Christ.

Hinton notes the corruption of the modern versions (as revealed in Gail Riplinger's "In Awe of Thy Word") in a testimony posted at http://avpublications.com/avnew/testimonies/hinton.html.

"As a Harvard Divinity School graduate, I can testify that these modern seminaries and biblical studies programs are not only full of apostates, but socialists, abortion supporters, sexual perversion advocates, practicing sodomites and lesbians, radical feminists, witches, New Agers, and atheists. Expecting spiritual discernment from such people would be insanity. Comparing biographies of the new version translators to the biographies of the KJV translators that she provides in In Awe of Thy Word, would make the magnitude of this insanity even more clear."

Don't eat genetically modified foods -- Part 1

Found all throughout supermarkets, convenient stores, and grocery stores are genetically modified foods. What is genetically modified food? It's food that has undergone a dna alteration to increase production in order to make more money. What's wrong with that? First, It's denying that God made everything good in an attempt to make the food better. Some may say but men make cars and computers. Making cars and computers falls under the category of subduing the earth. Altering food is saying that God does not provide food good enough for you. Check out Genesis 1. Look for more on Don't eat genetically modified foods --- Part 2.

Renewal of the spirit

I woke up this morning and received a package with some bad news. I began to think and worry about it a little. I went back to sleep and woke up with a renewed spirit. I encouraged myself. I told myself that God is your provider. I told myself to not to do things of old b/c I have been renewed by the grace of God through faith. I had strength that I never thought I would have had. I encourage every one to seek God for the grace so your minds will be renewed. Here's the verses for my motivation of encouraging you:

Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Awesome!! So get to asking renewal and remember that you must not waver as the Spirit said through James in James 1:5-6 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." Keep in mind Deuteronomy 4:6. Your wisdom and blessing is in obedience. So receive the strength by grace through our Lord Jesus to obey him.

Have a nice day, my renewed brothers and sisters

Christians and innovation

Why is it that Christians are behind the world in innovation? The bible says in Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the Lord is the beginnning of knowledge". Why is it that Christians (those who have been restored to who they were created to be) are often unwise and unlearned? I believe that Christians seem to believe that logic and reason is contrary to faith. The comprise of many Christians' faith with evolution has a lot to do with the problem. Instead of establishing their faith on the Holy Bible first, people often tend to base their beliefs on the theories of men. We need to start with the Holy Bible first and live according to every word of God. However many Christians do not have the real word of God. Instead they have a counterfeit bible. The King James Bible is the pure word of God. Before you dismiss that statement, check out avpublications.com .

It's time

For a few weeks, I struggled with my finances. I gave up on a fresh food diet that God told me to do for a monnth. I was without joy. I did not take delight in my God. I instead began to worry about what I am supposed to do to resolve my problems. I was careful for all of the things pertaining to this life. I worried about what I would eat although Jesus told me to take no thought for my life (Luke 12). I did not present my requests before God as the Spirit said through Paul in Philippians 4:6. Then I went to eat lunch at Wendy's with one of my co-workers from Ruby Tuesday. She told me about quitting smoking. I asked her how she felt. She said that she felt terrible for a little while but now that she was glad that she quit. Her reason for quitting was because of a pregnancy. Now she doesn't want to smoke again. I thought about some things that I needed to quit. After finishing lunch, she gave me a ride home. She told me that she was starting to get back into church because her child deserves it. My heart was moved to start praying more and witnessing to people again. I realized then that I was not design to be selfish. My original design is that of servitude. I encourage you Christians to be bold in the grace of God. You cannot walk as you should without Christ. We must begin to live by his every word (Deut. 8:3). We must begin to praise him more. We must begin to seek his face. It's time to pursue our Lord with all heart, soul, mind, and strength. It's time to lift his name higher. Our lives are not about us. We are here to preach the gospel to others. Preaching through our works of charity. It's time to pursue God with all hearts.

I encourage you to check out the following verses:
Proverbs 2-3
Deuteronomy 4:6
James 1:5
John 6:63
Luke 12
James 4:6
2 Corinthians 12:9
Ephesians 2:8
Titus 2:11-12

May God's grace and love abound richly in your life.

Algorithms

For everything in existence, there must be an algorithm. There is an algorithm for taste, sight, sound, beauty. There is an algorithm for winds, waves, and water. There is an algorithm for thought. There is an algorithm to live. There is an algorithm for how the spirit of man is attached with a physical body. There is an algorithm for behaviour. There is an algorithm to find truth. For everything in existence has a set of laws by which it abides.

Living By His Every Word

I realized that if I live by God's every word, I will easily defeat the enemy as James 4:7 says. I am beginning to understand what it means to live "by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD" (Deuteronomy 8:3). I have realized that I cannot interpret Scripture, but that I must compare "spiritual things with spiritual" (I Corinth 2:15). The things I live by must not be of my own wisdom but by that which the Holy Spirit teaches (I Corinth. 2:15). I know that if I ever have a problem I must not resolve to physical solutions, but to Scripture as Jesus said in John 6:63, "it is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, the are spirit, and they are life." I know that wisdom should be desired, and that only God can give me wisdom and understanding (Proverbs 2, James 1:5). I have also learned that to be wise is to be pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17). I have learned that the Bible is the only self-defining book. I mean that every single word is defined in it. Checkout avpublications.com for more info. I encourage you today to "trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). " Apply your heart to wisdom (Proverbs 2). Cry out for wisdom more than anything, even more than 10000 trillion dollars, and then you will understand the fear of God (Proverbs 2). Experience the easy yolk of Christ by desirinig His word and allowing it to enter into your heart.
