Christians and innovation

Why is it that Christians are behind the world in innovation? The bible says in Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the Lord is the beginnning of knowledge". Why is it that Christians (those who have been restored to who they were created to be) are often unwise and unlearned? I believe that Christians seem to believe that logic and reason is contrary to faith. The comprise of many Christians' faith with evolution has a lot to do with the problem. Instead of establishing their faith on the Holy Bible first, people often tend to base their beliefs on the theories of men. We need to start with the Holy Bible first and live according to every word of God. However many Christians do not have the real word of God. Instead they have a counterfeit bible.
